Well my 28 day program is winding down! I am so glad I had the opportunity to try it--it truly has changed the way I will eat. I feel slimmer, less bloated and less hungry. While I may not completely give up carbs and sugars (this girl needs a glass or two or three of wine some nights!) I definitely will be choosing proteins and veggies over carbs when deciding what to eat.
Let's just say I have tried NUMEROUS diet delivery programs. Some have been good and some have been awful (sorry Medifast, but I just couldn't stick with yours).
So what exactly does PersonalTrainerFood send you for 28 days? You do have the option to customize exactly what you want. While the PTF way of eating is pretty limited to a few food categories--meats, vegetables, eggs, cheese and nuts--they do a decent job at providing variety. Here is a sampling of the options available:
Week 1 of Personal Trainer Food is in the books! Overall I am feeling pretty good. And although they don't recommend jumping on the scale I couldn't resist--I had to know what progress I had made!
I have been now been on the PTF program 3 days! Here are my highs and lows:
The Good:
-The food is tasty! Yes, I wish I had more of it, but I am enjoying everything so far. I have been very hungry though--they say the first 3 days are the worst and then my hunger should subside (fingers crossed).
My PTF is here---48 lbs. of it! I must say shipping is super quick. I placed my order Tuesday afternoon and Saturday it is at my doorstep. (in fact I could have even chosen Friday for delivery). It was all still very frozen and packed with dry ice. The food categories were also layered within the box for easy sorting--meats on the bottom, then veggies, breakfasts and snacks on the top.
As I begin my 28 day Personal Trainer Food experience part of my requirement is to post 'before' pics---I was not looking forward to this! so I put on my yoga pants and smiled for the camera---here it is:
So what exactly is the Personal Trainer Food Diet Program? Based on what I am reading, it is similar to the Paleo diet, meaning if cavemen didn't eat it, we shouldn't either. It largely consists of meats, eggs, non-starchy vegetables, and nuts.
Their website sums it up quite succinctly:
Just ask one simple question...”Is it a meat, vegetable or egg?” If so, then no worries. If it’s not, then avoid it.
I am very excited to begin a new diet delivery program called Personal Trainer Food! I have tried several other diet delivery programs in the past (Nutrisystem, Diet-To-Go, Medifast) with decent results and they were always my immediate go-to solution after gaining 60 lbs. from both my pregnancies. I had never heard of Personal Trainer Food but they approached me and I agreed to do an in depth review of their 28 day program (they provided me the food free of charge in exchange for my honest opinions).
